democratic socialism
socialist form of government; guarantees civil liberties like freedom of speech, religion, etc.; citizens determine the extent of government activity through free elections + political parties
capitalism
system of government that favors free enterprise (privately owned businesses w/o government regulation)
Libertarianism
ideology that's opposed to all government action except as necessary to protect life + property
Libertarians
opposed to using government to promote order or equality (believe in government) but think it should be limited
Laissez faire
economic doctrine that opposes any form of government intervention in business
Anarchism
political philosophy that opposes government in any form (opposite totalitarianism)
Conservatives
people who are willing to use government to promote order, not equality
Liberals
people who are willing to use government to promote equality, not order
