Cardiac arrest in a patient with chest width less than 17.7 inches and sternum height between 6.7 and 11.9 inches.

Patient is too small for the plunger to provide adequate depth of compressions.

What is a contraindication for Lucas device use related to patient size being too large?

Patient is too large for the top part of the Lucas to click into the back plate.

What should happen to manual CPR while placing the Lucas Back Plate?

Temporarily stop manual CPR while placing the Back Plate under the patient, immediately below the armpits.

What two methods can be used to place the Lucas Back Plate under the patient?

Lift the patient's torso and slide the Back Plate under from the head, or log roll the patient and slide the Back Plate in from the side.

What should be done after placing the Back Plate, regarding CPR and the device?

Continue manual CPR and turn on the Lucas.

How is the LUCAS Upper Part removed from the bag?

By holding the handles on the Support Legs.

What should be checked before letting go of the Release Rings?

Pull the Release Rings once to make sure the Claw Locks are open.

How is it confirmed that the support legs are secured to the back plate?

By listening for a click and pulling up on it.

Immediately above the end of the sternum.
