Placenta previa

Cardiogenic shock

S/S: cool clammy skin, weak and irregular pulse, tachycardia, shallow breathing
Cardiac tamponade
Result of blood or fluid filling the pericardial sac. Often due to a ruptured, torn, or lacerated coronary artery or vein but may occur in autoimmune disorders
Compartment syndrome
5 p’s :
Pallor

pulselessness
paralysis
pain
Nasopharyngeal airway
reserved for patients who have an active gag reflex and cannot maintain a patient’s airway spontaneously
Bag-valve mask
reservoir bag and supplemental oxygen flowing at 15 liters per minute can deliver nearly 100% oxygen to a patient
Non-rebreather mask
with a filled reservoir bag and supplemental oxygen flowing at 10 to 15 liters per minute can deliver nearly 95% oxygen
Nasal cannula
with supplemental oxygen flowing at 1-6 liters per minute can deliver 24% to 44% oxygen
Hepatitis
Liver inflammation, usually caused by infection
S/S: jaundice, nausea, appetite loss
Angina pectoris
a medical condition characterized by chest pain or discomfort caused by a reduced blood flow to the heart muscle (myocardium)
