A word meaning variety.

The variety or all the different types of life on earth, you can typically find lots more life near or on the equator due to the warmth.

Species

A particular type of living thing that can breed and reproduce; there are about $2,000,000$ identified types.

Biology

The scientific study of all forms of life, which includes the study of living things and their interactions with their environment.

Science

Knowledge gained by observing natural events and conditions, which helps to discover facts or to perform experiments to test theories or formulate laws.

Three Basic Areas of Science

A period from the $1450s$ to the $1700s$ that gave rise to a renewal of interest in art and science.

Leonardo da Vinci

An artist and scientist who made close studies of animal and human anatomy and introduced methods of observation and documentation that are still used today.

Microscope

A technological invention that allowed for the discovery and study of cells and microorganisms.
