First step of contraction
Innervation/excitation by somatic motor neuron. Receives acetocoline from motor end plate of sarcomere
Second step of contraction
Action potential has to spread down the length of the sarcolemma.
Third step of contraction
Calcium comes out of sarcoplasmic reticulum through voltage gated channels to bind to troponin. Moves tropomyosin out of the way. Forms cross bridges
Fourth step of contraction
ATP fuels action of pulling actin toward M line, sliding filament mechanism.
