• multi-organ failure

refeeding syndrome

• completely compromised cardiac system overwhelmed by a replenished vascular system after normal fluid intake resumes

• cardiac arrythmias

• pulmonary edema

• fluid imbalances

• deficits in K, magnesium, phosphate, & thiamine

bulimia nervosa

• recurrent episodes of binge eating then compensating through purging or overexercise

• at least twice weekly over 3 months
