When we use SOME?

SOME (+)(?)

We use the indefinite pronouns SOMEBODY/SOMEONE, SOMETHING or SOMEWHERE when we DON‘T KNOW exactly who, what or where.

(+) Somebody/Someone came to my place.

(+) There’s something wrong with my computer.

(+) We should spend time somewhere while the cleaners work…

With OFFERS and REQUESTS, we usually use SOMETHING

When we use ANY?

ANY (?)(-) - often ; (+) - rearly; ( ANYTHING = EVERYTHING = ALL)

We use ANYBODY/ANYONE, ANYTHING, ANYWHERE to ASK QUESTIONS about people, things or places.

(?) Can anyone/anybody help me?

(?) Did you buy anything for me?

(?) Are you going anywhere for your holidays?

We can also use ANY in NEGATIVE sentences with a NEGATIVE VERB.

(-) I didn’t see anybody in the restaurant

(-) We didn’t eat anything yesterday.

(-) They didn’t go anywhere in summer.

We can use ANY in POSITIVE sentences to mean ALL people, things or places

(+) I can buy anything you want.

(+) I like to travel anywhere in my country.

When we use NO?

NO = 0% (+)

We use NOBODY/NO ONE, NOTHING, NOWHERE to talk about NO things or places. We use them in a POSITIVE SENTENCES.

(+) - Nobody lived in that city.

(+) - We have nothing to eat.

(+) - There’s nowhere to buy clothes in the mall.

EVERY = 100% (+), (?)

We use EVERYBODY/EVERYONE, EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE to talk about ALL people, things or places.

When we use them as a subject, we use them with a singular verb “to be“ WAS and WERE.

(+) - Everybody was happy at the party.

(+) - I bought everything I needed in this store.

(+) - We were everywhere in this peace.
