Bulk volume

This is the total volume of a cylinder occupied by a non-porous powder placed inside

Porosity

This is determined by the ratio of void volume to the bulk volume

Angle of repose

This is the maximum angle possible between the surface of a pile of powder and the horizontal plane

Bulk density

This is the mass of powder divided by the bulk volume of the powder bed

Tapped density

This is the density of the powder after tapping

True density

This is the density of a sample excluding the volume of pores and voids

Hausner ratio

This is the ratio of the tapped density to the bulk density

Carr’s compressability index

This is the %-tapped density minus the bulk density over the tapped density
