unpaired, forms posterior portion of cranium

Temporal Bones
paired, most lateral portion of cranium, contains hearing and balance mechanisms

Sphenoid Bone
unpaired, forms platform across front base of skull, anterior to foramen magnum, greater wings serce as important muscle attachment

Mandible
unpaired, makes up jaw

Maxilla
paired, makes up front of face including roof of mouth

Nasal Bones
paired, form bridge of nose

Palatine Bones
paired, hidden, help form nasal cavity and hard palate (back 1/4)

Lacrimal Bones
paired, form portion of lateral nasal wall and medial orbit

Zygomatic Bones
paired, form cheekbones and lateral orbits, articulate with temporal/frontal bones + maxilla to form zygomatic arch

Inferior Nasal Conchae
its own bone, articulates with the palatine bone, bottom-most part of lateral nasal wall, help warm and humidify air

Vomer Bone
unpaired, forms inferior and posterior nasal septum, divides nasal cavities
