Matter
Anything that has mass and takes up space.

Measure
To find the size, amount, or degree of something using tools.
Shape
The form or outline of an object.
Temperature
How hot or cold something is.
State
The physical form matter takes: solid, liquid, or gas.
Color
What we see when light reflects off an object.
Hardness
How difficult it is to scratch or break something.
Texture
How something feels when you touch it.
Odor
The smell of something.
Mass
The amount of matter in an object.
Volume
The amount of space something takes up.
Weight
How heavy something is, based on gravity.
Solid
A state of matter with a fixed shape and volume.
Liquid
A state of matter with a fixed volume but no fixed shape.
Gas
A state of matter with no fixed shape, no fixed volume.
Density
How much mass is packed into a certain amount of space.
Conductivity
How well something lets heat or electricity pass through it.
Luster
How shiny or dull a surface looks.
Malleability
How easily a material can be bent or shaped without breaking.
Boiling Point
The temperature at which a liquid turns into a gas.
Solubility
How well a substance can dissolve in a liquid.
Reactivity
How easily a substance reacts with other substances.
Combustible
How easily a substance can catch fire and burn.
Flammable
How quickly something catches fire.
Acidity
How acidic a substance is; acids taste sour and can react with metals.
Basicity
How basic (or alkaline) a substance is; bases feel slippery and can neutralize acids.
State of Matter
The form matter takes: solid, liquid, gas, or plasma.
Plasma
A state of matter like gas, but with charged (ionized) particles.
