First Step in Emergency Assessment
Ensuring the scene is safe for yourself and the casualty before approaching.
Treatment for Severe Bleeding
Applying direct pressure to the wound using a clean cloth or bandage, adding more bandages/pressure and elevating the wound above the heart if bleeding continues.
Heimlich Maneuver
A procedure delivering a combination of back blows and abdominal thrusts to clear an airway obstruction in a choking individual until the object is forced out or the person becomes unconscious.

Grasping the throat with one or both hands.
