What is SIADH?
Syndrome of inappropriate anti-diuretic hormone secretion

What is neurogenic diabetes insipidus?
Hypothalamus or pituitary gland fails to produce ADH, kidneys can’t concentrate urine, water isn’t reabsorbed
Insufficient amounts of ADH
What is nephrogenic diabetes insipidus?
Kidneys can’t respond to ADH due to faulty receptors in collecting ducts; inadequate response to ADH
What is psychogenic diabetes insipidus?
Excess water ingestion causing diluted blood and excess urine
Occurs due to psychological factors like stress, anxiety, schizophrenia

Hypernatremia
Serum hyperosmolality
