How do you calculate work done?

Work done = Force x Distance moved (in direction of force)

W = F x d

J = N x m

2
New cards

What is work done equal to?

The energy transferred.

3
New cards

How do you calculate power?

Power = Work done / time

P = W / t

W = J x s

4

What is Newton’s 2nd law of Motion?

Resultant force = mass x acceleration

F = m x a

n = kg x m/s²

What is terminal velocity?

An unbalanced force causes the object to accelerate (weight or thrust)

As the object accelerates, drag starts to act and increases

This causes the resultant force to decrease.

Eventually the drag force is balanced in magnitude to weight, the resultant force is zero/forces are balanced.

The object moves at a constant speed which is terminal velocity.
