Explain what the Church’s mission is ? Give evidence to support this ?

it has a mission to spread the good news to non-believers that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and came into the world to be it’s saviour

EVIDENCE : Matthew’s gospel ends with the Great Commission “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”

What is the responsibility of Christians ?

according to the Great Commission it’s to tell others of their faith, this may be spreading the word to people or preaching

• main aim is to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour

• to extend the Church to every nation of the world

What’s a missionary ?

it’s when your sent on a regular mission especially to promote Christianity in a foreign country through preaching or charitable work

What is evangelism ?

it’s spreading the Christian gospel by public preaching or personal witness

Explain the Alpha course ?

• aim was to help the church members understand the basics of the Christian faith

• but soon it began to be used as an introduction for those interested in learning about christianity

• organisers described this as an opportunity to explore the meaning of life

• idea caught on and many of the major Christian denominations began using it

• it takes place not just in church but also so many places and it used worldwide
