Credibility

the quality of being believable or trustworthy

bias

prejudice in favor or against one thing compared with another. Makes things unfair.

perspective

how somebody views something.

inquiry

asking for info/a question

Turning points

a major change in events, or when a decisive change in situation occurs. (Especially one with a benificial outcome)

Chronological thinking

viewing events in order of occurance

primary source

first hand account; [writer was] somebody [who] was there; written at same time

secondary source

source created later; author did not view event; usually created from primary accounts

Cause and effect

cause: something that produces and event: something caused by a cause

influence

the effect something has on the way something thinks or behaves

What are the three main regions of North Carolina?

Mountains, Piedmont, Coastal plain

What is the coastal plain divided into?

Inner coastal plane, Outer coastal plain (tidewater)

What are the sandhills?

An area of NC with sandy soils, and long leaf pines savannas.
