Four points about emotions
Emotions do not push, but pull us - They direct our attention
Emotions engage us intentionally — They draw us into an interpretation of the object that shapes our response internally and expressively
Emotions shapes how we think about the world -- They frame our worldview and therefore influence our thinking in profound ways that are often unforeseen
Value (a primary concern of planning) is derived from intentional beliefs that inform emotions- Whether or not we feel anything depends on the importance of hte object for us
What is one thing we should always consider?
Diversity, to ensure fairness of representation, also to solicit knowledge about the meaning of the plan among a diverse assortment to people offering a diverse range of responses.
