T- conflict is one of many pathways to come to a conclusion when trying to achieve justice
I- Reginald rose, the author of the ‘twelve angry men’ orchestrates three different types of conflict throughout the play

T- individual against society
E- can feel isolating, especially when it feels theyre given lesser-quality services because of this
E- the defendant, had grown up impoverished. juror 8- “kicked around all his life… thats not a good start”
A- had not been given the chance to grow up like a ‘regular kid’
E- the lawyer not presenting the case as well as he could of. “if i was on trial for my life i’d want my lawyer to tear the persecution witness to shreds”
A- lawyer may have not felt the need to put much effort into this case because it was assigned by the state, because the boy could not afford his own lawyer.
E- lawyers gave room for assumptions, and for the jurors to assume guilt rather than thinking about it
A- juror 8 was the only juror to question the evidence given in court
L- the argument that the lawyer did not present the case to the best of his ability caused the initial conflict from juror 8

E- there are a pattern of jurors that often to head-to-head, often towards juror 8
E- juror 6 vs 3 - “a guy who talks like that to an old man outa really get stepped on y’know”
A- stands up for juror 9, who was making valuable comments about the issue of if the boy is innocent or not.
E- juror 4 vs 10 - “sit down. and dont open your filthy mouth again”
A- juror 4 is sick of juror 10 picking fights with everyone, and being prejudice
E- juror 5 vs 10 - “there is something personal”
A- wants juror 10 to realise where he is going wron

E-juror 3 - “rotten kid. you work your heart out”
A-conflict with himself, regrets how he brought up his kid for him to go no-contact
E- “jeez, i can feel the knife goin’ in” - he’s relating to the father as if it was his kid
A- “it’s not your boy. he’s somebody elses
E-the others are silent while he is conflicting with himself - “well, what d’ya want? thats it.”
A- they are letting him run out of steam on his own, rather than fighting back because they know he’s hurt and is trying to find any excuse he can.
