MEASUREMENT
is a scientific comparison. When you measure, you actually compare an unknown quantity with a known standard quantity. When you use a number to describe a physical quantity, you must always specify the unit.
SPEED
Its unit is the ratio of the units of length and time.
KILOGRAM
The standard of mass
QUALITATIVE
consisting of general observations about the system
QUANTITATIVE
consisting numbers obtained by various measurements of the system.
HYPOTHESIS
tentative explanation for a set of observations.
THEORY
Hypotheses surviving many experimental tests to confirm their validity
ACCURACY
tells us how close a measurement is to the true value of the quantity that was measured.
PRECISION
refers to how closely two or more measurements of the same quantity agree with one another.
