What is the difference between data and information?
Data are raw facts entered into a computer; information is processed data that is meaningful.
What are the three basic computer operations that turn data into information?
Input (data), Processing, Output (information).
Name three common input devices.
Keyboard, pointing device, scanner.
Name three common output devices.
Printer, display (monitor), speakers.
What is memory in a computer used for?
Stores instructions and data waiting to be executed.
What is storage in a computer used for?
Stores data long-term on storage media or services (e.g., HDD, SSD, cloud storage).

What is the Internet?
A worldwide collection of computer networks that connects businesses, government agencies, educational institutions, and individuals.
What is the World Wide Web?
A global library of information consisting of webpages; a website is a collection of related webpages; a web server delivers webpages.
What is a web server?
A computer that delivers requested webpages to your computer.
What is a browser?
Software that enables you to access and view webpages on the Internet.
What is a search engine?
Software that finds websites, webpages, images, videos, and other information related to a topic.
What is an online social network?
A platform that encourages members to share interests, ideas, stories, photos, music, and videos with other registered users.
What digital safety and security concerns are mentioned?
Viruses and malware, privacy, health concerns, and environmental issues.
What is green computing?
Reducing electricity consumption and environmental waste when using a computer; strategies include recycling, energy-efficient hardware, extending device life, and proper disposal.
What is software?
Programs that tell the computer what tasks to perform; system software (operating system and tools) and applications.
What does a software developer do?
Develops programs and apps or writes the instructions that tell a computer how to process data.
What is a network?
A collection of computers and devices connected together, often wirelessly, via transmission media.
What are home networks?
Networks that connect to the Internet, share a single high-speed internet connection, and allow access to content and devices.
What are business networks?
Networks that facilitate communications and share hardware, data, information, and software.
