Significant figures rule for addition and subtraction
The result should have the same number of significant figures after the decimal point as the input number with the fewest number of significant figures.
Significant figures rule for multiplication and division
The answer can be no more precise than the least precise number from which the answer is derived, which is the input number with the fewest significant figures.

Units
The basic quantity of mass, volume, or whatever quantity is being measured.

Mass
The quantity of matter in an object, measured on a balance with a standard metric unit of the gram (g).
Weight
The product of mass and acceleration due to gravity (Weight=mass×acceleration due to gravity).
Length
The distance between two points, with a standard metric unit of the meter (m).
Volume
The space occupied by an object, with a standard metric unit of the liter (L).
Time (Metric Unit)
measured using the standard metric unit of the second (s).
