Bone tissue
An example of a highly vascular tissue.
Cartilage tissue
An example of a tissue that is not highly vascular.
Fibroblasts and protein fibers
Components associated with both dense regular connective tissue and dense irregular connective tissue.
Labile cells
Cells that continuously divide throughout life, such as epithelial cells and blood cells.
Liver regeneration
The ability of the liver to regenerate after surgical removal due to the presence of labile cells that continuously divide and replace lost tissue.
Endocrine glands
Glands whose secretions are released directly into the bloodstream.
Absorption
A process that is primarily the role of epithelial tissue and is not a function of connective tissue.
Vascular spasm
The constriction of blood vessels that limits the size of an injured area by reducing blood flow and containing the injury.
