What is the Test for Glucose

• Water bath at 100C

• Add Benedict’s Solution to the Test Tube of the Sample

• Place the Tube into the water bath for 5mins

• Positive - Brick Red / Negative - Blue

What is the Test for Starch

• Add Iodine to the Sample

• Postive - Brown/Orange to Blue/Black

What is the Test for Proteins

• Add Biuret to Sample

• Positive - Blue - Pink/Purple

What is the Test for Lipids

• Add ethanol to sample, shake vigorously

• Positive - Milky White
