Buoyant Force
The upward force exerted by a fluid on an object that is fully or partially immersed in it.
Archimedes' Principle
The buoyant force acting on an object is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced by that object.
Factors Influencing Buoyant Force
The density of the fluid and the volume of the object are the primary factors that influence the buoyant force.
Principle of Floatation
When an object floats in a fluid, the weight of the object is equal to the weight of the fluid displaced.
Hydrometer
A device used to measure the relative density of liquids.
Lactometer
A device used to measure the relative density of milk; it is a type of hydrometer.
Relative Density
The ratio of the density of a substance to the density of water.
