Titration
A technique used to determine the concentration of a solution (analyte) by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (titrant).
NaOH
Sodium hydroxide, a strong base whose concentration is being determined in this experiment.
HCl
Hydrochloric acid, a strong acid used as the titrant to determine the concentration of NaOH.
Buret
A piece of laboratory glassware used to accurately dispense variable amounts of a liquid.
Erlenmeyer flask
A type of laboratory flask with a flat bottom, a conical body, and a cylindrical neck used to hold and mix solutions.
Pipet
A laboratory tool used to accurately measure and transfer a fixed volume of liquid.
Fenolftaleïne
An acid-base indicator that is colorless in acidic solutions and pink in basic solutions; used to detect the endpoint of the titration.
Indicator
A substance that changes color depending on the pH of the solution, used to signal the endpoint of a titration.
Endpoint
The point in a titration where the indicator changes color, indicating that the reaction is complete.
Molarity (mol/L)
A unit of concentration, defined as the number of moles of solute per liter of solution.
m/V%
Mass/volume percentage, expressing the concentration of a solution as the mass of solute per 100 mL of solution.
