A business term referring to industries that generate revenue from art, culture, and creativity, also known as the Orange Economy.

Republic Act No. 11904
The Philippine Creative Industries Law which divides the creative industries into 9 domains.
Audiovisual Media (Domain 1)
A domain including recorded and live audio and audiovisual content distributed through platforms like TV, radio, cinema, and digital streaming.
Music Technology
The study and use of devices, machines, mechanisms, and tools for creating, composing, recording, and editing music.
Upright Piano
A musical instrument invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori in 1709.
Grand Piano
A musical instrument invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori in 1720.
Square Pianos
Instruments invented by John Zumpee in 1766.
Digital Piano
A technological version of the piano invented in 1929.
Phonograph
Introduced in 1877, it became the first device capable of reproducing recorded sound.
Electric Guitar
An instrument widely used after the 1940s that contributed to the birth of Rock 'n' Roll.
Amplifier
An electronic device that increased sound projection, making large concerts and stadium performances possible.
Multitrack Recording
A development that allowed songs to be divided into sections and recorded one part at a time rather than in one complete take.
Synthesizer
An electronic instrument designed to imitate and recreate orchestral sounds and a variety of special effects.
Turntable
A device used by DJs to manipulate sounds during live playback, essential to Hip Hop and Electronic Dance Music (EDM).
Auto-Tune
A technological tool that automatically adjusts a singing or speaking voice to match the correct pitch of the music.
Digital Interactive Media (Domain 2)
Digital media that depends on user participation through an interface to affect what is seen or heard.
Karaoke
A Japanese term meaning "empty orchestra" or "empty choir," invented by Daisuke Inoue in 1971.
Roberto del Rosario
A Filipino inventor who developed the karaoke sing-along system in 1975 and holds the world's sole patent for it.
Videoke
A modern and interactive version of karaoke originating in the Philippines, featuring video backgrounds and scoring features.
Video Game Music
The soundtrack accompanying video games that changes dynamically according to player actions or game situations.
Creative Services (Domain 3)
Demand-driven commercial creative services done for clients, such as advertising, marketing, and creative research.
MIDI
Standing for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, it allows electronic musical devices to communicate and play instruments simultaneously.
