Normal sinus rhythm

• Normal heart rate & rhythm

• Normal PQRST

• 60-100 BPM

Sinus Tachycardia

• Normal PQRST

• Rate 100-180 BPM

Sinus Bradycardia

• Normal PQRST

• Rate <60 BPM

Atrial Fibrillation

• Abnormal and irregular rhythm

• Abnormal P waves

• Normal QRS complex

Ventricular Tachycardia

• Irregular rhythm

• Patients can have a pulse or be pulseless

• QRS wide & bizarre

• P wave absent

• Rate 100-250 BPM

• Requires electrical defibrillation ASAP if pulseless

Ventricular Fibrillation

• Lethal arrhythmia

• Totally irregular

• No P wave or QRS complex

• Patient is pulseless

• Requires electrical defibrillation & CPR

Asystole

• Lethal arrhythmia

• Flat line with no waves

• No pulse

• Requires immediate CPR
