For years people with diabetes were told to avoid foods that contain sugar. According to Drs. They recommend to keep carbs , protein and fats to a certain percent intake daily.

Avoid gluten (protein in wheat, barley, rye). They can eat rice, corn, and oats labeled gluten free. They cannot eat wheat products( bread, pasta) , barley , and rye.
What is the difference between grains today and grains from hundreds of years ago?
Modern grains are more processed, refined, and often stripped of nutrients. Older grains were consumed whole, minimally processed, and contained more fiber and micronutrients.
