Twenty Questions categories
The three standard categories on which the game Twenty Questions is based: animal, vegetable, and mineral.
Analogy
A statement of comparison showing a corresponding relationship between word pairs, such as "Cheese is to milk as salad is to lettuce".
Suffix -tion
A suffix added to the end of a word root to form nouns.
Morphology of "information"
The structural composition of the word "information", consisting of a root, a suffix, and a prefix.
Free morpheme
A meaningful linguistic unit that can stand alone as an independent word, such as "run".
Affix
A word element added to a root word that alters its meaning.
Ending 's
An inflection added to the end of a word to indicate grammatical relationships such as possession.
Participle
A verb form that functions in participle tense constructions or as an adjective, such as "eating".
Prefix
An element attached to the beginning of a root word that can consist of more than one syllable.
