clean with downward strokes, sterile gloves, surgical lubricant, inflate balloon after urine flows
Catheter daily care:
soap and water to clean, empty every 6-8hrs, secure to patient thigh
sudden stop in urine flow
check for obstruction or kinking
Leakage around catheter
Reassess placement & balloon inflation
Blaader spams
Check for obstruction before medicating
