Why do you want to join?
I want to join TAP because I’m passionate about addressing inequalities, especially the digital divide that impacts students' education. TAP offers a platform to collaborate with others and work toward solutions that ensure everyone has equal opportunities.
What issues have you seen in school and why is it an issue?
One major issue I’ve seen is the digital divide. Many students at my school don’t have access to digital devices or reliable internet. This makes it difficult for them to complete assignments or engage with online learning resources, putting them at a disadvantage compared to peers with better access.
How do you react to people disagreeing with you?
When people disagree with me, I see it as an opportunity to understand their perspective. I try to listen carefully, share my thoughts calmly, and find common ground, because productive discussions can lead to better solutions.
How do you react to controversial topics?
I approach controversial topics by staying open-minded and respectful. It’s important to understand both sides and find constructive ways to discuss sensitive issues, even when opinions differ.
Why do you think it's important for students to have more resources?
Having more resources is crucial because they provide equal opportunities for all students to succeed. Without access to technology, books, or support programs, students may struggle to reach their full potential, widening gaps in achievement.
Share a personal experience on any of the issues listed and how did you overcome them?
"I noticed many of my peers couldn’t access online materials during remote learning. I advocated for them by raising the issue with teachers and suggesting a device lending program. Seeing that change made me realize how important it is to speak up and push for solutions."
