1. Sindh allowed British to use Indus for trade but did not allow military passes
2. british were afraid of russian explansion into Afghan (Great game), so they wanted to make a deal with afghan ruler but he did not do it, so they wanted to make shah shuja as afghan ruler but for that they need to cross sindh with arms
3. Maharaja ranjit singh always wanted sindh but if he gets it then he becomes too powerful so British did not want that,so they said ranjit singh to backoff inexchnage for 15 lakhs
- now they need to get 15 lakhs so then they made shah shuja to make claims of sindh and ask them tribute for ruling all these years, so in this way they forced sindh to pay money to shah shuja so now this money is used to pay ranjit singh and also to fund afghan war
