What does the abbreviation CBC stand for and what is its definition?
CBC stands for Complete blood count. It is a blood test used to evaluate overall health and detect a wide range of disorders, including anemia, infection, and leukemia.
What does the abbreviation ESR stand for and what is its definition?
ESR stands for Erythrocyte sedimentation Rate. It is a common blood test that can help detect inflammation in the body.
What does the abbreviation HCT stand for and what is its definition?
HCT stands for Hematocrit. It is the proportion by volume of the blood that consists of red blood cell.
What does HB/Hgb stand for and what is its function?
HB/Hgb stands for Hemoglobin. It is a protein and red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body tissues and transports carbon dioxide from the tissues back to the lungs.
What is an RBC as defined in the Chapter 11 Glossary?
RBC stands for Red Blood cell. It is a type of blood cell that is made in the bone marrow and found in the blood. Red blood cells give blood it's red color and carry oxygen to the body's organs tissue.

WBC stands for White Blood Cell. It is a solve normally found in the blood and length fluid, also called Leukocytes. They are part of the immune system and helped the body by infection and other diseases.
