  • crevicular fluid is serum like. Rare to see this fluid in health. Increases w/ inflammation

cuff like band or stratified squamous epithelium, completely encircles tooth like a turtle neck shirt - not keratinized

  • attatchment to tooth suface: provides seal at base of sulcus

  • thickest at coronal end thinnest at apical end

    • position in relation to crest of alveolar bone: fro BASE of attatchment to CREST of alveolar bone 1.5 -2 mm
