A more specific way of being a Christian who knows Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church.

Saint

A holy man or woman confirmed to be in heaven.

Mass

When Catholics give worship, sacrifice, and thanksgiving to God.

Eucharist

The body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ on Earth in the appearance of bread and wine, present in the tabernacle.

Sacred Scripture

The Holy Bible, a collection of books that tell the story of God and humanity, authored by God through inspiration.

Gospel

Translates to good news; the good news is Jesus Christ.

Sin

Failure in genuine love for God and neighbor caused by a perverse attachment to certain goods.

Prayer

Talking with God to ask for forgiveness, give thanks, or ask for help.

Love

To want and do what's good for others, and to do God's will.

Creation

The first part of our story where God created us all in the beginning to know and love Him; all good, no evil.

Disobedience

The part of our story where Adam and Eve disobey God, leading to temptation, sin, and death entering the world through the devil.

Redemption

The part of our story where God the Father sends His Son into the world, and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus overcomes sin and death to allow us to be one with God.

Vocal Prayer

Praying with words, such as praying the Our Father.

Meditation

Praying with the mind.
