Deforestation
The action of clearing a wide area of trees.
Greenhouse Gasses
Gasses in the atmosphere that raise the surface temperature of planets such as the Earth.
Green Revolution
A 20th century agricultural shift which led to a large increase in crop production in developing countries achieved by the use of fertilizers, pesticides, and high-yield crop varieties.
Vaccine
A substance used to stimulate immunity to a particular infectious disease or pathogen
Antibiotic
A medicine (such as penicillin) that stops the growth of or destroys bacterial infections
Longevity
Having a long-life span
Desertification
The process by which fertile land becomes desert, typically as a result of drought, deforestation, or inappropriate agriculture.
Economic Liberalization
Lessening of government regulations and restrictions in an economy- move towards laissez-faire capitalism
Knowledge economy
A system in which the production of goods and services is based on knowledge-intensive activities that contribute to advancement in technical and scientific innovation.
Multinational corporation
Any corporation that is registered and operates in more than one country at a time (also known as a transnational corporation)

The process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and governments worldwide
Consumer Culture
A lifestyle hyper-focused on spending money to buy material goods.
United Nations
An international organization developed after World War II, that aims to maintain international peace and security, promote cooperation among nations, and develop friendly relations
