Biceps Femoris
One of the strongest muscles of the whole body. It is the longest and widest of the muscle of the thigh. Associated with popliteal node and common calcanean tendon.
Biceps Femoris
Origin: Ischiatic tuberosity
Insertion: Facia lata and crural facia, Patella, Tuber calcanei
Action: Extends the hip, hock. Flexor of the stifle.
Innervation: Ischiatic Nerve
Abductor Cruris Caudalis
The strap like “Fire-Hydrant” muscles deep to the biceps femoris.
Abdcutor Cruris Caudalis
Origin: Distal end of Sacrotuberous Ligament
Insertion: Crural facia (Lateral)
Action: Abduct the leg
Innervation: Ischiatic & Fibular Nerve
Semitendinosus
It is a powerful muscle which forms the greater part of the caudal margin of the buttock

Origin: Ischiatic tuberosity
Insertion: Body of Tibia (medial) & Tuber Calcanei
Action: E.Hip and hock and F.S
Innervation: Ischiatic Nerve
Semimembranosus
Purely fleshy in character. It has two bellies. It is covered by Gracilis Muscle.

Origin: Ischiatic tuberosity
Insertion: Medial lip of rough surface of femur & Tibia (Proximal)
Action: Extends the hip, Extends the stifle(Femur), Extend and flexes stifle (Tibia)
Innervation: Ischiatic Nerve
Hamstring Muscle
Biceps femoris, Semitendinosus(medial), Semimembranosus(lateral).
