What is a router?
A network device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet.
What is a switch?
A network device that connects devices in a computer network by using packet switching to receive, process, and forward data to the destination device. Unlike hubs, switches forward data only to the intended recipient.
What is an IP Address?
A numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two main functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing.
What is a subnet mask?
A 32-bit number used to differentiate the network portion of an IP address from the host portion. It determines which part of an IP address represents the network ID and which part represents the host ID.
