Coracoid Process
Hook-like projection on the superior anterior border of the scapula pointing forward and laterally.

Deltoid Tuberosity
Roughened V-shaped area near the midpoint of the lateral humerus shaft serving as the insertion point for the deltoid muscle.

Trochlea
Spool-shaped medial articular surface on the distal humerus articulating with the trochlear notch of the ulna.

Capitulum
Smooth, rounded knob on the lateral distal humerus articulating with the head of the radius.

Trochlear Notch
Large C-shaped depression at the proximal end of the ulna formed by the olecranon and coronoid process.

Head of Radius
Disc-shaped proximal end of the radius articulating with the capitulum of the humerus and radial notch of the ulna.

Carpals
Group of eight short bones arranged in two rows that form the wrist.

Fovea Capitis
Small central depression on the head of the femur that serves as an attachment point for the ligamentum teres.

Lesser Trochanter
Conical projection on the posterior, medial surface of the proximal femur inferior to the neck.

Acetabulum
Deep, cup-shaped socket on the lateral hip bone formed by the fusion of ilium, ischium, and pubis that receives the head of the femur.

Lateral Malleolus
Expanded distal end of the fibula forming the lateral prominence of the ankle.

Osteon (Haversian System)
Cylindrical structural unit of compact bone composed of concentric lamellae surrounding a central canal containing blood vessels and nerves.

Volkmann's Canals (Perforating Canals)
Transverse or oblique channels running perpendicular to central Haversian canals, connecting blood vessels of the periosteum, central canals, and medullary cavity.

Canaliculi
Microscopic hair-like canals radiating from lacunae that connect osteocytes to each other and to the central canal for nutrient and waste transport.
