Cardiovascular System

The process that prevents and stops bleeding, involving platelet plugs and fibrin clots.

The muscular tissue of the heart, responsible for contraction and pump function.
Auscultation
The act of listening to heart sounds through a stethoscope for diagnostic purposes.
Systole
The phase of the cardiac cycle in which the heart muscle contracts and pumps blood.
Diastole
The phase of the cardiac cycle when the heart muscle relaxes and allows the chambers to fill with blood.
Lymphatic System
Network that returns excess fluid to the bloodstream, aids in fat digestion, and produces immune cells.
Thymus
An organ responsible for the production of T-lymphocytes, essential for immune function.
