- Horizontal suggests calmness
and stability.
- Vertical gives a feeling of

- Oblique suggests movement
and action.
Balance
Balance is the impression of
equilibrium in a piece of work.
Balance is often referred to
as symmetrical, asymmetrical,
or radial.
Unity is achieved when the
components of a garment
are perceived as
harmonious, giving the look
a sense of completion.
