Data discovery
An AI-based process that helps extract meaningful information from images and patterns.
Data augmentation
An AI-based technique that uses existing data to create new data to improve machine learning models.
Data generation
Processing a large amount of data and simplifying it using computer software algorithms or sensors.
Primary data source
Original and reliable data collected directly from the original source for research purposes, such as through interviews, experiments, or surveys.
Secondary data source
Data collected by someone else for other purposes or from external sources, such as government websites, published journals, Kaggle, or Google.
Kaggle
A community of data scientists where users can access different types of data.
Data preprocessing
The process of making raw data into an organized format using structuring, cleaning, and accuracy to ensure quality and consistency remain the same.
Independent features
Features in AI models that help predict the outcome based on the input data given to the model.
Dependent features
Features in AI models that can be manipulated and help predict the outcome based on what is being predicted.
Data interpretation
The process of making sense out of processed data to explain and analyze what findings and conclusions mean in a given context.
Qualitative data interpretation
The analysis of non-numerical text data to gain insight into people's feelings, emotions, thoughts, experiences, and answers to how and why.
Nominal data
A type of qualitative data used in qualitative interpretation.
Ordinal data
A type of qualitative data that is easier to interpret than nominal data.
Record keeping
A qualitative data collection method that involves gathering qualitative data from an existing data source, similar to searching a library.
Case studies
A qualitative data collection method where data is collected using detailed case studies.
One-to-one interviews
A qualitative data collection method where information is gathered directly through individual interviews.
Focus groups
A qualitative data collection method where data is gathered from a group discussion on a relevant topic.
Quantitative data interpretation
A process for analyzing numerical data through statistical methods to answer questions like when, how many, and how often.
Poll
A quantitative survey method that asks simple questions to respondents.
Observations
A method of gathering quantitative data over a particular period of time.
Longitudinal surveys
A quantitative research study conducted over a long period of time.
Textual data interpretation
Data mentioned in the form of text, usually in paragraphs, which is not suitable for large amounts of data.
Tabular data interpretation
Data represented and stored in the form of rows and columns, where the title is in the description and information is in the columns.
Acquired data
Data collected from various data sources.
Data processing
The collection of raw data to derive meaningful information from it.
Data analysis
The step of examining each component of data to draw conclusions.
Data presentation
The step where ideas and evidence are selected, organized, and grouped in a logical way.
Data visualization
The process of converting numbers and long data sets into images like pie charts, bar graphs, and maps to make data easy to understand, save time, communicate ideas clearly, and aid better decision making.
