Ionization Energy
This is the minimum amount of energy used to remove an electron from an atom/ion in the gas phase.
Amorphous (Non-crystalline)
Lacking clear shape, structure, or organization.
Compounds
Substances composed of 2 or more elements bonded together in a fixed proportion that can be broken down into simpler substances by chemical means.
Elements
Substances composed of only one type of atom that cannot decompose into component parts by ordinary physical or chemical means.
Table salt (NaCl)
An example of a compound composed of Sodium and Chlorine.
Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
An example of a compound composed of Carbon and Oxygen.
