Fibrinogen
A soluble plasma glycoprotein, synthesized by the liver, that is essential for blood coagulation.
Hematocrit
The ratio of the volume of red blood cells to the total volume of blood.
Total Protein (TP)
The total amount of protein present in blood serum, including albumin and globulins.
Heat Precipitate Tube
A tube used in fibrinogen analysis to denature fibrinogen at elevated temperatures.
Reticulocyte
An immature red blood cell that is newly released from the bone marrow into the bloodstream.
Corrected Reticulocyte Count
The reticulocyte percentage adjusted based on the packed cell volume (PCV) to account for anemia.
Observed Reticulocyte Count
The percentage of reticulocytes calculated based on the number observed in a sample of red blood cells.
Methylene Blue Stain
A dye used to identify reticulocytes by staining RNA in the cells.
Anemia
A condition characterized by a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin in the blood.
Evaluation Ratios of Reticulocyte Counts
A system used to determine the regenerative response of erythropoiesis in the bone marrow based on reticulocyte percentages.
