Behavior that occurs in direct response to social pressure (peer pressure)
Obedience
Change in behavior in response to a direct order

Affect — how you feel about something
Behavior — one’s predisposition to behave in a certain way
Cognition — what you know or believe
Cognitive Dissonance
Inconsistency between belief and behavior can cause psychological discomfort

we develop attitudes based on observations of our behavior
Attribution Theory
how we decide the causes of our own and others behavior
Situational (External)
Behavior caused by something in the environment
Dispositional (Internal)
behavior caused by a trait of the individual
Self-Serving Bias
Take credit for success; deny responsibility for failure
Stereotype Threat
Self-fulfilling fear of being judged based on negative stereotype of group

Attributed characteristics based on group affiliation (Schema)

Allows for quick decisions about individuals- allows for categorization

Prejudgment of a group and its individual members
