Workbook
A file in Microsoft Excel that contains data, formulas, and worksheets.
Worksheet
A component of a workbook, consisting of a grid of cells organized into rows and columns.
Cell
The intersection of a column and a row in a worksheet, where data is entered.
Active Cell
The currently selected cell where data can be entered or edited.
Cell Address
The unique identifier for a cell, combining its column and row labels (e.g., C11).
Range
A selection of two or more cells in a worksheet.
Fill Handle
A small square at the bottom right corner of a selected cell that allows for filling data into adjacent cells.
Formula
An expression in a worksheet that performs a calculation, starting with an equal sign (=).
Function
A predefined formula in Excel that performs calculations using specific values, referred to as arguments.
Navigation Pane
The section of the Excel interface where you can locate and organize files.
Excel
A spreadsheet program developed by Microsoft for data organization and analysis.
Cell Reference
The way to refer to a specific cell in a formula, using its cell address (e.g., A1).
Data Validation
A feature in Excel that allows users to set rules for what data can be entered into a cell.
Chart
A graphical representation of data in Excel, such as a bar graph or pie chart.
Pivot Table
A powerful Excel feature used to summarize and analyze data from large data sets.
Hyperlink
A clickable link in Excel that redirects to another location, either within the workbook or to an external website.
Conditional Formatting
A feature that allows you to change the appearance of cells based on specific conditions.
Sorting
The process of arranging data in a specified order, either ascending or descending.
Filtering
A feature that enables users to display only the rows in a dataset that meet certain criteria.
Macro
A recorded sequence of actions in Excel that can be played back to automate repetitive tasks.
