The making and breaking of chemical bonds.

Reactants

The starting molecules of a chemical reaction.

Products

The final molecules of a chemical reaction.

Reversible reactions

Chemical reactions in which products of the forward reaction become reactants for the reverse reaction.

Chemical equilibrium

The state reached when the forward and reverse reaction rates are equal.

Polar molecules (Water)

Molecules with an oxygen region having a partial negative charge (5-) and a hydrogen region having a slight positive charge (5+).

Hydrogen bond

The bond that holds two water molecules together.

Polar covalent bonds

Bonds located within or inside a single water molecule.
