The idea that God has planned everything and whatever you do, you cant change your fate which confused a lot of people because they were also said to have free will and they were in control of their own salvation

“There’s a predestinate providence”. Even though this was a Protestant belief, Puritans were worried that people would use predestination to justify immoral actions by saying that God had made them do it
