Supply Chain Planning Matrix
A visual representation of the various elements involved in supply chain planning, including procurement, production, distribution, and sales.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP)
Takes the Master Production Schedule and explodes it into implied, detailed production/procurement schedules, generating replenishment orders for uncritical components.
Distribution and Transport Planning
Determines the distribution operations to cover customer demand and replenish inventories at DCs, considering product availability at production sites.
Demand Fulfilment
Planning process that determines how the actual customer demand is fulfilled through order promising, demand supply matching, and shortage planning.
Available-to-Promise (ATP)
The supply information used as the basis for order promising, representing the current and future availability of supply and capacity.
Allocation planning
The process that assigns the overall ATP quantities from master planning to the nodes of the customer hierarchy.
rank based
customers are prioritized, high low priority customers are served only if there is remaining quantity after serving high priority customers.
per committed
split factors based on the share in the total forecasts; fair allocation; may lead-to shortage gaming.
Fixed split
predefined split factors.
Collaborative planning
A joint decision making process for aligning plans of independent SC members with the aim of achieving mutual benefit and efficiency of the SC.
