Define a prokaryotic cell
It is a primitive cell. Lacking a true nucleus and membrane bound organelles. Its genetic material is present as a circular, double standard DNA molecule in a non-membrane bound region called nucleoid.
Give examples of prokaryotic organisms
Bacteria, archaea and Cyanobacteria
How do procreate reproduce?
By binary fission asexual
Which ribosomes are present in prokaryotic cell?
70s ribosomes composed of 50S and 30S subunit
Where does ATP synthesis occur in prokaryotic cell?
On plasma membrane, where the electron transport chain is located
List the major components of a bacterial cell
Capsule(glycocalyx), Cell wall, plasma membrane, cytoplasm, nucleoid, ribosomes, plasm, inclusion, bodies, and in some species, flagella, pilli and endospores
