cross-rhyme
alternating double-rhymes e.g. abab
end rhyme
occurs at the end of rhymes
eye rhymes
words spelt alike but not actually rhyming e.g. “love” and “prove”
half-rhymes
also called consonance. repetition of the same consonant sounds before and after different vowels - “groaned” and “groined”
Internal rhymes
occurs within lines
Slant rhyme(also partial, near, off-rhymes)
a rhyme that isn’t quite a rhyme, e.g. “dear” and “door” form a slant rhyme, as well as “soul” and “wall” , words sound similar but aren’t close enough to make a full rhyme
